Brisbane, Australia – A police transport vehicle loaded with more than 50 vehicles with heavy equipment, including four police vehicles, has been driven to Mount Isa, after heavy snow was expected to fall overnight.
Brisbane Police said the vehicle was being transported to Mt Isa from the Mt Isa Police Station where it was being loaded with equipment from the Snow Patrol Unit.
“The vehicle will be transported to the Mount Isa Police station and will be unloaded,” a Brisbane Police spokesman said.
The vehicles were initially due to arrive in Brisbane around 1pm (AEDT) on Monday, but it was delayed after heavy rainfall caused power cuts and power cuts caused by the snow ploughs.
It is believed the vehicles will be parked in a warehouse near the Mount Albert station, but they are expected to be unloaded in the early hours of Wednesday.
Snowfall in the Brisbane area could reach a maximum of 6mm per hour by Thursday, the bureau said.
