Mahindri Mahindrata has lost its maiden passenger in a crash in the Indian state of Karnataka.
The accident happened on the first of its two trips, travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Bangalore, on Thursday evening.
The vehicle, carrying 36 passengers and crew, was on a three-hour journey from Thiruvallur to the capital.
It suffered severe damage to the left front and rear suspension, which is common for passenger transport vehicles, when it crashed into a tree on the road, Mahindre said.
The driver was not injured in the crash.
